Cookie Policy
Last updated: April 29, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how baselinesecurity.io uses cookies and similar technologies. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a website. Cookies allow a site to recognize your device, remember preferences, and collect information about your visit. Some cookies are essential for a site to work; others are used for analytics or marketing.
2. Cookies we use
baselinesecurity.io is a low-tracking marketing site. We currently use only strictly necessary cookies and similar technologies set by our hosting infrastructure:
| Provider | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Bot mitigation, security, performance | Strictly necessary | Session / up to 30 days |
| Cloudflare | Page caching and load balancing | Strictly necessary | Session |
We do not use advertising cookies, behavioral re-targeting pixels (Google Ads, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, etc.), session-replay tools, or any cross-site trackers.
3. Privacy-friendly analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns on this site, including page views, referrers, country of origin, and basic performance metrics (Core Web Vitals such as page-load time). It runs as a small beacon in your browser and reports anonymized data back to Cloudflare.
What Cloudflare Web Analytics does not do:
- It does not set cookies of any kind
- It does not store your IP address or build a profile of you
- It does not identify individual visitors or track them across other websites
- It does not share data with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third party
What it collects: page URL, the page that referred you (if any), country (derived at request time, not persistently stored), browser type, operating system, device type, and Core Web Vitals performance measurements. Aggregate data is retained by Cloudflare in accordance with their data retention practices and is accessible only to us.
Because Cloudflare Web Analytics does not process personal data as defined under the EU/UK GDPR, Quebec Law 25, or PIPEDA, it does not require visitor consent under those laws. We therefore do not display a cookie consent banner. If we ever add tracking that does process personal data, we will present a consent banner before it activates.
4. Third-party services
Our site loads typography from Google Fonts. Google may receive your IP address as part of standard HTTP requests and may set technical cookies. We do not control these. See the Google Fonts privacy notice for details.
5. Managing and disabling cookies
Most browsers allow you to refuse, delete, or restrict cookies via settings. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be fully disabled without affecting site functionality.
6. Do Not Track
We honor the Global Privacy Control signal where applicable. Because we do not engage in cross-context behavioral advertising, the practical impact of DNT/GPC on this site is limited.
7. Updates
We may update this Cookie Policy. The “Last updated” date reflects the latest change.
