These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of baselinesecurity.io (the “Site”), operated by Baseline Security (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. About this Site

The Site is the marketing website of Baseline Security, a private cybersecurity, privacy, and IT advisory practice based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The Site provides general information about our services and points of view. It does not constitute legal advice, security advice, financial advice, or any binding professional service.

2. Engagements and client relationships

Consulting and advisory services are provided only under a separate written engagement agreement. Submitting the contact form, exchanging emails, or otherwise communicating with us does not by itself create a client, fiduciary, or advisory relationship.

3. Intellectual property

All content on the Site (including text, design, source code, logos, graphics, and the Baseline Security name) is owned by us or used under license, and is protected by Canadian and international copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may share links to public pages and quote brief excerpts with attribution. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or republish substantial portions of the content without written permission, except as permitted by fair use / fair dealing.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Site for any unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purpose
• Probe, scan, penetration-test, or otherwise test the security of the Site or its hosting infrastructure without prior written authorization from us
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of any non-public component of the Site
• Submit false, misleading, defamatory, or unlawful content via the contact form, including impersonating another person or entity
• Interfere with site availability, integrity, or other users’ experience
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers, crawlers) other than well-behaved search engine indexers respecting robots.txt

Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, which are incorporated by reference.

The Site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Baseline Security disclaims all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and availability.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Baseline Security and its principals, employees, contractors, and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Site, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our aggregate liability for any direct damages is limited to CAD $100.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Baseline Security harmless from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party right.

9. Third-party links

The Site may link to third-party websites and services. We do not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for the content, privacy practices, or policies of any third party.

10. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site shall be brought exclusively in the courts of Montreal, Quebec, and you consent to such jurisdiction.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be highlighted on this page. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
